Introduction
The Office of High School Development (OHSD) manages UIC-based programs for pre-college students, including dual-credit and dual-enrollment courses; coordinates UIC's collaboration with UIC College Prep High School, a campus of the Noble Street Network of Charter Schools; and collaborates with K-12 schools and community organizations to build pathways to UIC for Chicago students. Additionally, OHSD contributes to supporting the success of UIC undergraduate students through targeted retention and support programs.
Our initiatives encompass several key areas, including early college credit opportunities that allow high school students to earn university credit, comprehensive college preparation support, and strategic partnership coordination with UIC College Prep High School, where we serve as the primary liaison to support college-readiness initiatives and connect university resources with school needs. These programs serve hundreds of Chicago students annually and represent UIC's commitment to educational equity and community engagement.
